Oysters on the Half Shell

The flavor of oysters is so delicate that the best way I have found for serving them is with a touch of fresh lemon juice and a dash of freshly ground black pepper. I serve mine on a bed of cracked or crushed ice and as accompanied with buttered toast triangles or buttered black bread.

Tis The Season

The holidays are fast approaching so I have decided to share some of my families favorite appetizers with ya’ll. I hope you give them a try and let me know what you and your family think.

I serve foie gras and caviar rarely. But when I do I make sure that both are well chilled. When I serve foie gras I serve it with buttered toast triangles. I cut the foie gras into quarter inch or 1/2 inch slices.

Caviar is something I serve on special occasions. I serve it with buttered crackers and very thinly sliced onion. Never freeze fresh caviar as freezing ruins it completely.

These are two elegant appetizers that your guest will surely enjoy.
